Hey there,
What fun it is to share one's love of books with the masses, and find people who share a similar taste in books. So many books! So little time! The lists are a lot of fun. The fact that you can follow people from anywhere, not just your own back yard makes it even more interesting.. On to the next.. book? blog?

Tweeting for the first time
So this week, we are tweeting. There are two parts to this and both distinctive. The 'posting' part is very nerve-wracking and I will always follow the suggested guideline, "You are what you tweet." Personally, it is not something I would do. I could see it being helpful in a library setting, if many of your clients are on Twitter. The second part is the 'following'.. how exciting! So many people and organizations to follow! But I could see this going against my personal philosophy of "Less is more." It seems a bit overwhelming with all that information coming at me. I would not be able to follow everything that is of interest to me, as I would have to sit in front of a screen all day long. It seems like a case of "More is less."

Blogging for the first time
Well, we are learning about web tools that will help us to share information about our libraries and the activities that we do. "Things" are starting to come together and we will soon be able to use the tools that are available to us. Some of us, of a certain age, need more help with all this, but this is a good start.
The biggest problem, as is usual in our day-to-day reality is figuring out a time (and protecting that time) to allow us to work on this training and these blogs. The ideas, the willingness to do, are not missing but the time always lacking.
