YouTubing and TED Talking

OK, so we want to link up some library or book-related videos from YouTube to our blogs this week, so of course, I decided to do some self-promotion.. well, not really self, but own-daughter-promotion... My daughter Katie and one of her friends decided to do a dance-themed film tribute of the Twilight book/movie a few years ago, and posted it on YouTube. I guess this is a great book-themed video to pass along!

I enjoyed looking at the TED talks. The one about grown-ups and LEGO really pleased me, but the one that touched me was by Lisa Bu talking about how Books Can Open Your Mind.. She talks about books being a magic portal -- "May Books be Always With You!"

I really enjoyed the video you posted as an example, NB23 about the Troy Library -- it gave me shivers..

Til next time..

Relax -- Take a Break!

Well, I guess we all deserve a week off... what to do with our time? Wish we had time to head down south.. at least to the Miramichi!! I guess we will just stay here and have a little contest to see who can shovel the snow up farther up the banks -- new Olympic sport? Never mind, the Olympics sound like a better way to take a break to me.. A nice hot drink, a warm wood stove and my PVR. See you next week!

"Pinterest"-ed

This was a little simpler as I am already registered for a Pinterest account, but I only ever looked at my friend's boards. I had no clue how to "Pin" so that was fun to learn. I can see how this will be helpful to find craft ideas and other ideas for the library. My daughter, Emilie is on Pinterest all the time and is forever finding crafts there.

I'm glad this was a short one this week, as it is a very full week for us at the library.
